These Reviews Can't Begin To Describe The Place

First off, don't even consider moving here. We reasoned that since we were college students and on a tight budget we could "tough it out". It's not worth it by far. The management has and will lie about just about everything, including security. The "courtesy officer" they advertise essentially means a police officer who gets rent reduction for living here. I don't know of anyone who ever managed to contact him/her. So, it's best just to call the local sheriff.
The place was built in the 1950's, not the 1970's like a previous review stated. It is completely uninsulated (part of my outer drywall rotted through so I could see it had no insulation). Combine the lack of insulation with faulty AC (they freeze, they leak, they just don't work) and your power bills go through the roof.
There is no cable or even the option of cable television, although we've been promised it for better than a year now. Maintainance is very slow to react..if they react at all. We were lied to initially about the anount needed for our deposit. The entire place is filthy and deserves the moniker "Little Mexico" that it's aquired since it's kind of like a little corner of Tiahauna.
Well over 70% of the population speaks little or no English. Insane numbers of people share apartments and the only good thing about the constant noise level is that eventually you're able to sleep through it. Children are everywhere and unsupervised. Police are a regular sight.
While I'm at it, let's not forget the flourishing drug trade. Numerous people have reported (actually identifying the persons and apartments involved) some of the sellers, but nothing seems to be done about it. The bulk of the hispanic residents are most likely illegal as the gym/computer area has recently begun asking for picture ID's to enter and the number of people without ID's is ridiculous. It has cut down on a lot of the problems in that particular building, at least at night. The guy who manages the gym at night told me that they only work nights and haven't been budgeted for a day shift.
Previously you were hard pressed to exercise because of the number of people sitting on the equipment watching TV. The place is watched at night so it's probably the safest spot in Riverbend after dark.
Another huge problem at Riverbend are the unlicensed, uninsured, and probably illegal hispanic drivers. Hit and runs are a weekly occurance. Nobody who lives at Riverbend for long will be able to say they don't personally know someone who's been a victim of a hit and run. Luckily, no one has been hurt so far.
I seem to have gotten carried away, but hopefully you'll get the message. It's worth the extra fifty bucks a month to live somewhere else. If you want drugs, crime, an inattentive staff, paperthin walls, and pretty much a lack of modern ammenities, then Riverbend is for you.
