Bottom line: don't expect anything out of management. I don't know if the previous person's post is accurate (that it's an understaffing/underpaying issue) or if they're simply slack, but I was absolutely disgusted by the maintenance. Also, twice we had our water shut off due to a broken pipe, and were never informed when it was turned back on and safe to consume again (without boiling). The negligence of the office in keeping tenants informed was extreme. My husband and I had our power turned off two months after we moved in, due to a processing error on Riverbend's part; there are 3 leaks in our ceiling which have STILL not been attended to (a maintenance person showed up, looked at the stains, and promised to return, but never did); and we've gotten such lame excuses from them as "your dog was in the bathroom so we couldn't inspect the leak" -- nevermind I'd emailed the office to let them know our 20-lb, 13-year-old incontinent dog WOULD BE in the bathroom when they came. No one ever attempted to set up an alternative time when we could be in the apartment to supervise the dog. Eventually, I just got sick of the management and decided we could do much better, even though the location and the low cost of rent were what originally, and legitimately, attracted us to Riverbend. Sorry to say, there are MUCH better places to live in West Columbia. Pass this one over unless you truly have no other option; otherwise, you'll end up moving twice in a short period of time, like us.
