first the downsides: the reason I left is that they tried to raise my rates by $100 when I tried to renew my one year lease. other than that no major problems. the ofice staff is attentive but I cannot comment on maintnace. no issues with noise of crime (but I was on top of the hill.) the gates were a joke (the back gate spent more time on the ground than on the hinges.) But if you are choosing an apartment based on gated or not you need to reconsider. I would reccomend this paced with reservations: be aware of location. the lower areas seem to have more problems. use the security system (if they still do that) also, know your rights and be ready to walk away if they try to raise rates too high. just my $.02 from some time ago.

The only way your rent would be increased by $100 is if you asked to be put on a month to month lease. Anyone that lives at Bent Tree since 2000 knows we do not nor have we ever increased a renewal more then $15 (normally only $10). As far as the gates go unfortunately they do get struck by inconsiderate persons but are fixed within 2-5 business days depending on what parts were damaged. The only thing bad about this sight is people do not tell all accurate stories they only tell what they think sort of happened. As the rule goes 3 sides to all stories.
