Tired of picking trash up

I am so tired of picking up random trash from my breezeway and sidewalk. This morning upon taking out my trash, I also aquired an empty laundry detergent box, various scraps of paper, an empty pill bottle, and several cigarette butts. As a rent-paying resident this should not be my responsibility, however I do not want to welcome my visitors to trash strewn common areas. There is a also a fresh pile of dog doo almost every morning on the side walks. Upon calling to complain about this matter, I was informed that there is no ground crew. Excuse me' No ground crew' The apartment I lived in during college was base eight (i.e. the pitts) and at least there was a ground crew. I know that in a perfect world each resident would not litter and would pick up after themselves. However, we deserve to live in a complex with clean grounds. If I continue to have to pick up trash, I could at least get a discount on my rent.

My friend who also lives here and told me about this web site, said that the office staff checks this regularly and even called her to correct a complaint she had. So I will take the liberty to offer a few suggestions to the staff (hoping that this venue will offer more immediate solutions than calling, because that gets you no where).
1. Hire a groundskeeper. With the size of this complex I'm sure management will not be that strapped to pay minimum wage (if that) to an illlegal to clear the grounds for a couple of hours each day.
2. Put up doggie stations with bags that dogowners can use to clean up after their pooch.

Now to the positive stuff. Since the shooting like two weeks ago, the complex has been really quiet (almost eerily quiet). I hope its due to the fact that all those teen trouble makers have been carted off to Juvie.

This apartment complex isn't the best but for the price you can't beat it with a stick. Under $500 for a nice sized one-bedroom with paid water and a washer/dryer' And if you qualify you don't have to pay a deposit. I can't complain.

I would recommend Bent Tree to a friend because they are not that bad (compared to some reviews of other complexes).

If you spoke with the property manager I am sure she did not simply state there were no grounds persons so you were tough out of luck. We are very aware of the garbage problem and you are right in a perfect world people would pick up after themselves but we all know this is not a perfect world. If you are around at 8:30am on any given morning you will see all 3 maintenance men as well as the property manager picking up garbage (bag after bag). Perhaps you only see what is right in front of you. As for your suggestions there is no need for a groundskeeper as we have two on-sight persons and 4 others that work here we are all a team and are not above picking up garbage at anytime anywhere. If the persons letting their dog use the restroom on your sidewalk are not picking up after their pooch now what makes you think if we provided bags and scoops they would use them. Again, perfect world syndrome. My name is JC Copeland I am the property manager at Bent Tree and my door is always open I am here from 7:30am until after 5p.m. on most days. I am not above picking up garbage and actually have for several of my handicapped residents. If you feel strongly enough to write on this sight perhaps you should come see me for coffee one morning would love to chat. Again, thank you for your input it is always welcomed but then again my door is always open and discussions can take place in person versus a web sight this is far from accurate.

The quantity of litter on the ground is a pretty good indicator of the quality of residents.

I would just like to say that I have only lived here at bentree for 6 months now and i have zero complaints on the staff there. they have always very nice, professional and prompt with any issue i have had. Trash strown about is usually done by children and we all know that children will be children. If we want the world to be a perfect place. We will all have to do our part and picking up a little garbage on my way to the dumpster is a small thing toward my part of this illusive perfect world. So If there is every going to be a chance for a perfect world. Deal with it and do your part. dont expect that someone else will do it for you and you just set there and complain if they dont.
