Last year when my family (myself and my two siblings) were looking for an apartment; we came by Cambridge. We were looking at a 3bedroom/2 1/2 bath place for $845 a month.

We immediately fell in love with the apartment but we started to notice several changes within one week BEFORE signing the lease agreement. I was the only one working and I made enough to cover the necessary budget but they insisted that my brother and sister produce documentation about their employment status or lack thereof. We informed them of the situation and they became rude and ugly about it. They began to ask personal questions; so I told them off and moved on to the next issue.
They lied from the very beginning about the water, they told me we did not have to pay for water but I had just seen a woman drop a check for the water bill in the office. When I questioned a second time in the same day about water, the sales rep insisted that I had misunderstood her and she had distinctly stated we had to pay for water.
We had to submit my income information 3 times. After the hoops and rings of fire, we were denied.
But Praise God, we found an apartment that same day that was $115 less and had no problem with just my name on the lease. And we all have our own bathrooms.

I do not regret not living there one bit...

so how is everything now? i would be a little worried if my apartment complex just let anyone move in with me without doing some kind of background check. that is crazy! but whatever makes you happy i guess...
