Half and Half...

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
I lived at Cedar Pointe for 2 years and my boyfriend in the apartment 2 floors above for 4 years. He never really had a lot of trouble except for a drunk person trying to open his door in the middle of the night...Wrong apartment man! If you have a really nice car your should think twice as well because a neighbor had a new escalade that was pretty loaded and everything was stripped out of it one night as well as a girl had her stereo taken. But that is expected I guess in apartment living that isn't gated, or even if it is...easy targets. I had a very bad experience though in my apartment. I lived on the first floor and had left to visit my parents one morning to return and find the police surrounding the apartment building. I at first though, "oh that's terrible!! someone must have gotten their apartment broken into!". to find out it was mine!!! they had let the bushes grow over the side window so high that no one could see what was going on. He went in by breaking the bedroom window and took all of my jewelry when my neighbor heard something unfamiliar. She said I had always been a quite neighbor. I guess, being that you could hear the footsteps above, he heard her moving around up there and by the time she got the phone and called 911 and looked out her patio she saw him running away. he went right out the front door. I never left my windows or blinds opened, but the police said first floor apartments are always targets and to consider moving. I didn't stay one more day there. The management was very helpful though in letting me out of my lease with no penalties. That was a positive in all the mixed emotional and mental stress and chaos that was going on with something like that happening to you. Someone in YOUR place and took YOUR valuable jewelry and sentimentally valuable childhood keepsakes. Lately, it has gotten a little shady over there, but that area is changing a lot. The maintenance staff is very nice and the office staff, Lisa, is very nice. the apartments really need an overhaul- very dated and in bad need of updating and repair. Hopefully they will tend to these things! It is on the cheaper end of the apartment spectrum, so you pay for what you get in quality I guess, it could be a lot worse. Not the worst place I have seen.
