At your own risk!

I am moving because in the past year I have been mugged, broken into and, on several occasions in the past few months, heard gun shots. The crime rate in Antioch has shot through the roof over the past couple of years.

I was knocked out cold one night after work for twenty bucks. I got out of my car and as I was walking down the sidewalk, less than 30 feet from my door, I was knocked out with a blunt object and left bleeding on the sidewalk. I laid in my own blood for 20 minutes before I came to and made my way to a phone.

My truck and two other friends' cars have been broken into. My friends and I have lost over $1500 worth of stuff from our vehicles.

Over the past three or four months I have heard numerous gunshots and most recently I heard someone driving down the road firing off six shots into the air. About a minute later I heard them in the adjacent neighbor'hood' doing the same thing.

The security is less than acceptable. If you are going to live here, get your own gun and a concealed carriers permit and good luck.

On top of the security issues I have had problems with maintenance and the office. For the entire time I have lived here, every time it rains, the gutters have been inoperable. The office has been told, as well as the maintenance people. I have had wet feet on a number of occasions because I couldn't get past the large puddle at my breezeway. Nobody should have to long jump to get in their home.

It took over two weeks to get a new dishwasher when mine went out. And, they replaced it with a USED one. It sounds like a train when it's running. It is so loud I only run it when I am not here.

I was lied to by a girl in the front office. During a phone conversation I told her that I was moving and needed to fax some information to my new apartment office. I asked if I needed to give written notice and she said not to worry about it, that the phone call would be sufficient and she would take care of everything.

A week later when I came in to pick up some mail I was asked if I was going to give notice. I told them that she had already taken care of everything. Apparently she took care of nothing and I am out two weeks rent for an apartment I am not even going to live in.

Look around, stay the hell out of Antioch!
