Do not live at Meadowood. Our car has been vandalized and the manager refused to take any action, let alone show any compassion. One night someone tried to break into our apt and the manager (again) showed the least bit of concern - just said very casually that no place in town is safe (as if therefore the breakin attempt was justified). There are bugs inside the apartment and there is a hole at the bottom of the main door, due to which the temperature settings inside the apt are never correct - it is either too cold when it snows or too hot during the summer. There is also mold underneath one of the carpets which the management did not replace. Schatten properties (which owns Meadowood, Stonewood, and Dover Glen apts) has done a really bad job of maintaining the condition of the apts and selecting the management team. There is a supposed security officer on our grounds, but his/her being there does not have any significance, since the vandalism attempts continue.

Again, I am surprised to hear some of this. I can agree that the security is almost nonexistent. The fact that he advertises his whereabouts with flashing green roof lights doesn't help. I've never actually seen him/her out of his/her car. The office is correct in saying that you can't make an apartment complex into a vault. Stuff will happen as long as there are bad folks in the world. I would like to see cameras installed at the only entrance into the place, so they could see who came and went during the night. My experience with the staff has been markedly different. I have always gotten the repairs and upgrades I've requested, and in a very timely manner. When my wife thought there was smoke from the former tenants in the duct work, they came right away and cleaned them out. They have fixed everything that was broken and upgraded the lighting and ceiling fans when requested. We've had seven years of really good service.
