I was thrilled when we moved in to the place. The location of our apartment was great, parking isn't bad, unless you come late at night, but what do you expect' I almost always have a close spot before 10. The pools were nice in the summer, and our neighbors have only been loud once, and otherwise all is good. The floorplan is huge and the closets are great.
Now for the list of problems, and while they are all simple easy problems, and not that bad, all added together make for a somewhat unpleasant experience.
First, we have had really bad ant problems twice (1st floor apt). We have also seen a large variety of spiders, including 2 wolf spiders that were about 3 inches long. They were huge. The corner bedroom and closet are freezing cold during the winter, but the master bedroom was fine. The first month we were there, the toilet did not flush, and they put us on "the list" for maintenance. It literally took them a month to come and fix it, and when they did, it was discovered that roots were growing in the pipes. The water heater broke too, flooding most of the apartment. They got a carpet cleaner to fix it, which required him taking a knife and cutting the carpet into pieces, pulling it up, and taking all the cushion part out. After a week of the fans blowing, he came and "put it back" so now our carpet looks just as I said: as someone chopped it up with a knife and then laid it back down. It looks bad. I hope they recarpet when we move out. Also, aparently when the people above us moved out, when the staff was cleaning, the didn't connect the refridgerator pipe correctly, and we had our kitchen flooded from water dripping through the ceiling and light fixture. However, when I reported all these problems (with the exception of the toilet), they were there within 3 hours. We had a oven problem too, which was fixed immediately. Do not get me wrong, the maintenance staff is great. The other staff is alright too, except for one woman, and she is a witch with a capital B. Our electric bill is high too, extremely high. I find it odd that one month it can be 60 and the next 160, and i think it's the water heater. But I am not sure.
Crime wise there have only been 2 that I know of in MY stay, one attempted murder (gunshots that got us out of bed) and one attack on a man coming from the fitness center.
The gates don't work right, if they are even attached. And the electric socket covers are just painted on, and tend to fall off.
Iknow it sounds like I am complaining. I have had an overall DECENT stay. However, having so many problems in 9 months is not a good thing. Anxious to move out. I do not want to make friends with those wolf spiders.
