BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD DON'T FALL FOR IT

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
The Arbors of Hickory Hollow is an all around BAD place.
For one, they did not show us our actual apartment until the day we moved in.
We came back continually asking to see what our apartment would ACTUALLY look like but to no avail.
The apartment was in decent condition when we moved in. Not too bad, but the person before us had neglected to move some of his junk off of the porch.
For the first 3 months there was a terrible ant problem.
terrible.
We had maintenance come spray the entire place three times.
Which was a little silly, because once i bought myself a roach motel, I was fine.
The tile in the bathrooms had mildew, and our bathroom door was faulty. Same with the bedroom door in the master. It absolutely would not lock. Even after i bought a new doorknob, but no difference.
A couple months ago, we had a leak coming from the apartment above us, which flooded our dining area, and one of the bedrooms.
Maintenance came and cut two huge holes in the wall.
They fixed the pipes, but never patched up the holes.
I called the office twice, and went there myself three times before they actually sent the maintenance down.
Another apartment was evicted, and the staff took everything out, and threw it AROUND the dumpster as opposed to inside it, and i felt a little sorry for the people who had to come home to hundreds of people rummaging through their personal belongings including but not limited to clothing, furniture, even family photo albums.
As I've seen mentioned in the reviews before me, yes, the skunks are a huge problem.
At least once every two weeks, the entire complex stinks.
Also, one month, the staff lovingly misplaced my check for rent, and had nothing to say for themselves. They had the nerve to ask me to spend and extra 40 dollars to have the check canceled.
The other huge issue I had with this apartment complex was the gate.
The management gives you a card when you move in. Most people choose to just follow you into the gate, though.
I have had many a bad encounter with people who try to follow me in, but i drive slow enough for the gate to only be open long enough for me.
several times, I've actually seen people try to follow others in, and have their cars smashed by the gate.
When this happens, the gate gets stuck open, and anyone who pleases can drive right in.
This usually is not fixed for a week or two.
The utilities were rather pricey, bringing our rent from 850 to around 940.
Also, our heat was ridiculous.
Our electric bill was over 300 dollars one month.
You had to have the heat constantly running at about 85 degrees to keep the apartment above 50 degrees.
This is only after living here 6 months that all of this has occurred.
This place is not, by my standards, suitable for human living.
I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.
Except my worst enemy.
I think maybe she belongs here.
But yes, please. please please please.
Do. Not. Even. Consider.
