Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
I lived at Stonewood Village for two years. Parking: Horrible. So much for a permit, I complained every night and it never got any better. Noise: Not so great. Walls might as well be made of paper. Grounds: So,so. Landscaping was nice, but because of the policy where you can leave your trash outside your door for maintenance to pick up in the morning - rodents practically invaded the place. I had one incident with a skunk - the place was infamous for skunks and one got into a the crack under the door in the storage closet and had a fight with the air pump and sprayed the whole closet and balcony. I called management 3 times before they called me to say they couldn't do anything but call wild life protection and tell me to poor bleach on the balcony. Keep in my mind my apartment already reeked of skunk stink for two weeks. My furniture smelt so disgusting I had to replace all the cushions and pillows to get the smell out. Cost me a whopping $700. Oh I forgot to mention the water damage. My next door neighbor was handicap and would flush rolls of tissue down the toilet and it would back up into my bathroom every time. Complained to management about the damage to my personal things. Nothing they could do. Maintenance came by and said he could not see the water damage to walls or bathroom floor. Even though wall had a big water spot you spot a mile away and the floor was coming up in the bathroom. Safety: Ok, but somehow my ex-boyfriend was able to break into my apartment through the balcony door. Construction: Pretty fair the building was built in 2000 so it wasn't too bad. Maintenance: Some of the maintenance people actually cared to do their job and some didn't. Staff: Never really answered the phone, but would sometimes call you back. Laundry Facility: Oh, forgot to mention this complained several times to management about the washers not working. One of the washers broke and had dirty water sitting in it for three months it was disgusting and smelly and attracted bugs. So I end up having to go across the street to Meadowwood to wash my clothes because I was afraid of catching west nile.
