VERY NOISY! You will never get a restful night sleep between the loud music from people in the parking lot and the clanging of you heater or air conditioner which they refuse to fix. Don't bother calling a courtesy officer, they won't come and if they do, the people just turn it back on after they leave. When you tell the office staff about it, they will tell you that there is nothing they can do. I actually had to move out of my apartment for awhile because the neighbors were so loud at night.
Recently, I came home to find that painters had come into my home to paint the living room (which I requested). However, when I walked into the bedroom, I found my personal drawers open and it was clear someone had gone through them. I called the police but because these individuals did not physically harm me or steal, there is nothing they can do. Voyeurism is not illegal. I reported it immediately to the apartment manager who initially told me that I was wrong and that there is no way her painters would have done such a thing. She then changed her story and said that the on staff maintenance staff does not paint. They contract out and she informed me that she had no idea who was in my apartment but assured me she would look into it and see that this painter is never allowed back on the property. When I heard back from her a week later she accused me of making it up!
Nothing gets fixed because to do that, they would actually have to respond to the maintenance request. Buildings are in dire need or paint! Machines in the workout room are broken and there IS NO AC in the summer and the windows do not open so it is unusable. Also, I have never met anyone who lives or has lived here who didnât have a mold problem. Again, they will do nothing to fix it. And, good luck trying to navigate around all of the pot holes. Also, air does not circulate properly so part of the apartment is always freezing while part is always hot.
If you are a fan of sharing your abode with large roaches, spiders and mice, you will love it. I have asked for an exterminator to come on many occasions and they said no. I woke up one morning and there was a live mouse in my shower running around, apparently trapped. I called emergency maintenance and they responded by telling me that they do not go on duty until 9am, it was 6am. When I told the office staff about the incident they said I should consider what I would do if I lived in a house. But I donât, I live in an apartments for the apparent âconveniencesâ. It happened a second time and because the office was open I went in and requested assistance. They were reluctant so I began raising my voice and there were potential renters there who could hear me so they sent someone. When the guy showed up, I actually watched him put bait on a trap and put it under my stove without setting it.
They will lose your rent check and try to charge you a late fee. When you go in to talk to the office staff about problems, they will lie to you and nothing is done.
Extremely expensive and you have to pay for your own water. Also, water is not sub-metered! It does not matter how much water you use, the number of people on your lease determines how much your water bill is. So, if you go away for a month and come back, you water bill will be as high as it was the month before.
Oh, and this is comical, when they show the âcar washâ station, notice that there is no soap and no brush so what you have is a high pressure water hose. Same goes for the resident âbusiness centerâ. Internet does not work, printer does not work, fax machine does not work, disc drive does not work and there is no phone.
The complex has but one dumpster to serve all of the residents. It is located at the entrance of the complex so you must drive your garbage there. You can imagine the problems this causes, especially in the summer when things pile up and start to smell. I certainly feel sorry for the residents that live by it. Another, related problem I have noticed is that of, âdog wasteâ. Not all of the pet owners here feel that they need to clean up after their dogs, even when it goes on the community walkways and right in front of the mail boxes. The mailboxes are of course, where the kids wait for the bus.
As I mentioned earlier, there is little insulation between apartments. Not only does this cause noise problems but the people below me are heavy smokers and I think that is disgusting. However, the smell comes up through my floor and carpet and makes my apartments smell like smoke. For a non smoker, this is a huge problem!
