This place is a nightmare

If you are considering this place, don't waste your time. It might seem appealing because of the location, but living here was a nightmare and if you read other reviews I'm sure you'll see that I'm not the only one who thinks so.
We moved into The Landings in December of 2005. The apartment smelled musty and all of the appliances were old. In the first few months we saw a couple of big Brown Recluse spiders and asked them to come spray for bugs. However, that didn't seem to solve the problem. Every morning, I would flip the light on in my bathroom to see one sitting in the middle of my bathroom floor, or even swimming in my toilet. A pest control business owner advised me to put sticky traps down along the baseboards, so we did, and two weeks later we had at least five or six on every trap.

When we approached the management about the issue with this evidence, they acted "surprised" and then casually said that we might have a "nest in the attic."

At that time we stumbled onto this website and read in horror about how other residents have been reporting the same issue since 2002.

We demanded that management contact the holding company to get us out of our lease because of the unsafe living conditions (THESE SPIDERS ARE DEADLY.) Six months after moving into that Hell Hole, they let us out of our lease and we packed up our things and left. But I still have nightmares about it!

According to pest control professionals I have had conversations with, the treatment for Brown Recluse infestation is very expensive and time consuming, which is why apartment complexes like this will not spend the money on that kind of extermination. Brown recluses are immune to pesticides, so you can't just "spray" for them. As infested as the buildings probably are, they should probably be burned to the ground. Take my word for it.

I have posted some photos of the spiders we killed in that apartment. Look closely and you will see they are indeed Brown Recluse.
