I moved into the Landings a few months ago and was planning on staying for a while. I really liked the community and the leasing agent that showed me around was very friendly. I thought the rent was very reasonable in the area where the Landings resides. I was very happy with my decision. I had very little problems while living there. I loved that you could make maintenance requests online and were usually fixed in a timely manner. The neighbors above me could be loud at times, but not near as bad some neighbors I have had in the past.

Recently, I decided to go to graduate school out of state and had to break my lease about a month and half early. Trying to get in contact with anyone at the office was a problem in itself. I tried emailing the main email address twice and never got a response. I finally mailed in a letter to the attention of the Apartment Manager and still had no contact until I finally found a personal email address for her. She replied once and left me hanging with several questions. So I emailed her again and she never replied once again. I finally call her and she acts like I was wasting her time. I wanted to see if there was anything I could do about breaking my lease and not having to pay the entire amount for the time I would be gone. She started crunching numbers and for me to break my lease early was going to cost around $2000. It was cheaper in the long run to pay for both months I wouldn't be there. I do wonder if they get my apartment rented for a month I would have lived there and already paid for would they refund me my money...I highly doubt it.

I needed to make an emergency maintenance request and for some reason it wouldn't let me do it online. It was the weekend and so I called the office and left a message saying I needed to make an emergency maintenance request. The lock on my mailbox was broken and anyone could get in my mailbox. I know some of my mail was stolen since I get a certain magazine every week and it hasnt shown up yet. I think the dangers of Identity Theft these days is a bit more important than an air conditioner breakdown. Well, the maintenance staff called me back and said a mailbox lock is not consider an emergency. Call the office on Monday and put in another request.

So, my experience at the Landings started off great. I really loved the location and the community. Good neighbors which are always a bonue. However, my last month has gone from bad to worse.

I would recommend the Landings, but do plan to stay through your lease. Whoever said they work with you on breaking your lease terms LIED!!! There is a clause in your lease, which obviously I didn't understand like I thought I did.

On any emergency work orders the online system is best used during working hours, any emergency gets immediate attention by listening to the prompts on our voice mail.
