This is an except of the letter I am going to send The Ashford:

Back in October of 2002 I asked to see the apartment I was shown a model in pristine, condition, great looking floors, walls and ceiling. When I asked to see the actual apartment I was told it was dirty and not ready for viewing. A few days before I had to take possession I was finally allowed to see two apartments one in worse condition than the other. (If this isn?t a blatant case of misrepresentation I don?t know what is') At that point I did not have the time to get another apartment due to time constraints and moved into the apartment. I did mention that the walls were cracked, the floors in the kitchen and bath were in poor condition and the cabinets were falling apart. I asked for the floors to be replaced but they never were. After moving in I notice a thick layer of dust on the Venetian blinds forcing me to take them down and clean them thoroughly. Additionally, I informed you that the entire apartment listed to left when facing the kitchen. Your maintenance personal did level the stove but that had the effect of showing the problem with the floor to a greater degree. I was told that there was nothing wrong with the structure of the apartment by you and by your maintenance personnel and nothing would be done. A few months ago I informed you at least twice that the front door to the building was cracked and coming off the hinges. Again nothing was done to correct the problem. I and other tenants have complained about the terrible condition of the hallway rugs being torn and dirty. Again nothing was done. I?ve complained about the skylights on either side of the building were filthy and haven?t been cleaned for the six months I?ve lived at the Ashford. Again nothing was done. Additionally the floor boards under the rugs are loose causing a dumping sound which I?m sure the tenants below me can hear not to mention the blatant disregard of the traffic rules in the parking lot by many of the new tenants who have moved in over the months.
