BAD BAD, BAD!!!! I can't say it enough!

I just want to say that I more than gave this place a fair chance. When I first moved into this community, the office staff was pleasant and very helpful and the community was well kept and maintenence run well. HOWEVER, after my first year or so of being in my apartment, the old office staff were all replaced by VERY UNFRIENDLY AND UNPROFESSIONAL staff. I just cannot even list all the things that happened there were so many...and I have no idea why I stayed in this community as long as I did. I lived there for 7 YEARS! SEVEN!!!!! I guess i just kept hoping things would get better, and the location was very convenient to my work. Like I said there is no way I could list every thing bad that happened while i was at this community, however I will outline some of the main things:
1) My apartment flooded from broken water pipes AT LEAST 5 times
2) After my apartment flooded, each time I had to repeatedly call or go up to the office and complain about the moldy smell for them to get the carpets cleaned or replaced.
3)If you like taking showers or having water to do laundry, you might want to have a place to go as back up. You can depend on the water being shut off probably at least every month or 2 for hours at a time. They are ALWAYS having trouble with the water and shut it off for repairs A LOT.
4) The office staff is really unpersonable and flighty. Half the time I would put a maintenence request in, it would get lost or misinterpreted. They also will stick random notices on your door saying things like that you didn't pay this or that (even if you did), or that you can get a deal for paying rent early or something and then when you go to do whatever it is, they say it is some other price. They are also always leaving notes about shutting off the water or about randome inspections of the apartment and expect you to have arrangements made if you have a pet so that it wont get out of the open door when they are doing inspections or manditory maintenece visits.
5)The office staff has been very rude at times (especially one girl in particular). For instance I have had a cat since the moment I moved into those apartments to the time I moved out. Well, all of a sudden this girl says that I didn't pay my pet deposit and also said that she was raising my rent by $15 a month (and this was like 6 months into the year of my lease). She said that i needed to pay the pet deposit (that I had already paid years before) and that I needed to pay $15 more a month for pet rent''' I tried to get her to look back on my records to see that I did pay the pet deposit, but she said she could not find my records from that far back'''' She argued with me about it and I finally ended up agreeing to pay the $15 more a month on my rent (which is nuts cause if my rent wasn't right they shouldnt have accepted my checks with out saying anything for the 6 months prior).
6)The neighbourhood in the past few years has went from pretty quiet, to very loud and trashy (as far as other tenants). I had a neighbour on one side of me they would practice his music with friends at crazy hours like 10pm to 1am. The base was so loud that it would vibrate my apartment. I complained multiple times and I dont think anything was ever done. Also, the drive through traffic has gotten very bad. Guys would drive through the neighbourhoood like it was "The Strip" or somethig, playing really loud music and rap and yelling out crude things to whatever girls they see.
7)I must say that after all of the previously mentioned things, i thought that since I had been a great tenant for so long at this place that they would be nice to me upon moving out. Well...wrong! I spent more than a whole day scrubbing my apartment till it was spotless. Of course there were a few signs of wear and tear as you might expect from a place that has been lived in for 7 years, but all in all I thought I had kept it up very nicely and maybe even improved on some things from when I moved into the place. Well... I was supposed to get $350 back on my deposit (for apt deposit and half of pet deposit). Well, what I recieved was $140 and they begrudgingly gave that to me. They told me that they had to take $200 off of my deposit for refinishing the countertops''' Said that they were discolored looking and that it was because of something I had done to it!!! PLEASE!!! Those countertops are cheap laminate or something and I know for one thing that it woudlnt cost that much to "refinnish" them. You can buy a whole new counter top at Lowes for like $69. Further...i would think that there might be a little discoloration after 7 years of use on a cheap countertop. Plus, I think after that long they would just be able to write that off as depreciation. They said the other charges were for me breaking a key (which I did, but come on...7 years!!!) and for cleaning fees.
Well, I will stop ranting now...but I would just definately be aware of these apartments. I am normally a very forgiving and easy to get along with person, but I feel that I was treated unprofessionally at this place, especially for having given them my business for 7 years.

You are very right.... I have lived here for only a few months and have had problems with the water being cut off. Many times the water has been shut off for hours at a time and of course they dont notify you that its going to be off or anything. It is very inconvient. You are right about the notes also. We have recieved them about our water bill when it has already been payed. It is so unprofessional to stick them in the door in stead of the mail anyway. Everytime I see someone with a note in the door I know they had a problem with a bill or recieving a warning for something. It was pretty embarrassing the time I incorrectly recieved the one about our water. Also, I am glad its not just me with the counter tops. They are AWFUL. If I pour kool-aid or tea and it drips on the counter and I wipe it away immediatly there is still a spot. I have to soak it in degreaser. Thanks for the warning for when I move out that there will be a charge because there are a couple of spots that refuse to come up. What is sad I have read numerous complaints and talked to people who have lived here and no one ever gets a deposit back. I have and do live here and not the condition of the apt was not the best. Its not right that they can get away with the things they do. Also the staff is not professional or personable at all.
