Wouldn't waste your money

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2009
I have lived here for 6 years. When I first moved in I really enjoyed it, the leasing agent and managers were very helpful and friendly. However in the past 3 years it has been sold and re-sold, had new management come and go which has been very upsetting. I normally like to express how I feel and what I think however this is one time I can speak with confidence that the new brookside property owners and their management team do not care about you as a resident. Nothing is geared toward the current residents with the exception of REFER REFER REFER and will give you money. Their main focus is filling the apts, once you're in they do not care about if you are happy, trying to make or keep your living experience in their comunity happy. They are very disorganized, unprofessional, and can not keep their lease agreement but expect you to. For one...They have a hard time keeping track what apts are occupied, who has or has not paid their water bill and they have had to put notes on garages and storage units because they could not keep track of who had rented them. They want to keep you to your lease agreement but feel no obligation to have to keep the community up or inforce the lease agreement to ALL residents. There is not sufficent parking for every resident to have a parking space, beer cans are allowed all over the railings of balconies, you can not open your balcony door because the people above or below you have a illegal grill (against fire code) and smoke sworns in your doors and windows making you feel like the apt is on fire, people of past residency still come to the pool and their is no inforcement to kick them out; so you pay rent and want to go to the pool but persons who don't live there or pay rent get to have the pool priviledges you can not enjoy due to the overcrowding. I pay a nice amount of rent to feel like I'm living in a dump. Christmas lights stay on balconies all year round, beach towels hanging over railings make you feel like you have come back to your hotel rather than an expensive nice living community. I have found many other apartment complexes that are newer and a lot nicer for the money. If you want to have a nice place to call home that you can be proud of and where you feel appreciated, you will NOT want to live here. This apartment complex is more of a college dorm that celebrates spring break year round instead of a place I'd like to call home. If you don't mind the trash, no place to park, and not being able to enjoy the amentities that you are paying for then you want mind living in this environment where you find no peace or pride in where you call home. You would think I was old as dirt by saying that but I'm 32 y/o. Karen the leasing manager told me she can't break the rules for one resident because she'd have to do it for all. Maybe she needs to get out and look at the community once and a while and she'd realize she does it ever day. I just wanted out of my lease 15-20 days earlier because I refuse to pay for what I signed to live in and am not getting. Also the apt foundation's really need to be looked at...I have huge cracks running down my walls in every room. Most of the dryer vents that are suppose to lead outside don't! Make sure yours does...it's a fire hazard also.
