I currently live at Shallowford Trace, and while it isn't the absolute best place in the world to live, it is one of the best apartment complexes I've lived in so far.

I, personally, have never had a bug problem. If anyone has a bug problem, you can schedule when you want the pest control man to come and spray your apartment. Maybe some people don't take care of their stuff or leave food out and that's why they have a bug problem. It doesn't mean that the apartment complex itself has a bug issue.

At any rate, the maintenance is fairly responsive. The air conditioners freeze over a lot and the maint. crew will tell you that the air conditioning units aren't the best in the world.

When we first moved in, the carpet wasn't new. That kind of bugged me as I expect new carpet to be in an apartment when I move in. Also, we did have some problems with cabinets in the kitchen breaking at the hinges but that seems to be ok, now. They were more than happy to replace them and didn't give us any problems about it.

Some screens are missing off our windows, so we can't open all of them, but I am sure if we mentioned it, they would replace them. I wish they would clean the stairs and walkways more - some of the siding in the stairwells look really dirty and dingy and that bugs me a bit.

Parking could be better. They will leave you a ticket in a heartbeat so be careful about parking where you're not supposed to. This can get annoying as there literally aren't ANY parking spaces sometime.

The work-out facility is great, and they have a nice computer room with a printer and will let you use the fax machine anytime. They also take care of your packages for you which is really great as some apartment complexes won't do that. The pool seems to be nice and well-kept, too. They also provide a massause (YES FOR MASSAGES) at no extra cost!!

One thing to be wary of is that when you want to move out you have to provide a 60 day notice, instead of the usual 30 day notice. That kind of stinks.

All-in-all, it has been a good experience. There's some down-sides, but for the most part it is a good place to live. Could be a lot worse!
