a year ago, i would of said that shallowford trace apartments are a GREAT place to live... but not anymore. if you are not at all sensitive to noise or care about maintenance problems in your apartment being taking care of in a timely manner, this place will be fine for you. if you don't mind paying such a high price for a "gated community" which are meant to be for protection, and having them be open more than not, this will be a perfect fit. the staff around here has changed in the last 4 months and it has not been for the better. the manager has changed and so have some of the maintenance staff - and while everyone is friendly enough, they don't have they're act together. i have had maintenance come in my apartment over and over for the same problems. i have had issues with the people who live above me because of noise and the staff does nothing to help. (and i assure you i am not over-reacting. i lived in a dorm room for two years before i moved in here and it wasn't this bad.) plus, in the lease it has a niose policy which stated that shallowford trace will not tolerate loud music, or disruptive noise in general at any time... yet, when i called last night to complain about the loud party that was going on above me, the staff informed me that they no longer enforce that policy before 10pm. i'm sorry but that is unexceptable to me. i mean, ITS IN THE LEASE, PEOPLE!!!... this is not all. 3 months ago my apartment was broken into, while i was home. i was confronted with my intruder (in my bathrobe!!) and very lucky for me, he left without harming me or taking anything. i figure he got scared and left, thinking i had called the cops and didn't want to be here when they came. after calling the cops, i called the staff to let them know what had happened and they did NOTHING!!... they didn't look for him on the grounds, they didn't send out a news letter reminding everyone to be safe, they didn't even ask if i was alright. and when i left that day to go to class, low and behold - the gates where open. i wonder how he got in..... my lease runs up in dec and i can't WAIT to move!
