This place is aweful. it is all too good to be true. sure cable and water is included in the rent but it is not worth it. the landlord does not complete anything on time. we have been here over a year now. when we moved in she promised a pool would be built in time to open for summer it is now august and the pool is still not open. also our apartment recently became infested with mice. other apartments in our building also have been experiencing the same problem. i contacted the landlord and told her and she said she had already been made aware. she actully thought it was funny! i told this to my husband and after we caught 4 more mice he called her back. she said and i quote "we arent going to have the exterminator come out tonight for one little mouse" OKAY LADY WE HAVE CAUGHT 7 MICE IN THE PAST DAY! that is not one little mouse. disgusting. after further explaining to her that this is disgusting, and that we have mouse feces under our stove,and that it was ridiculous the problem had not already been taken care of, she responded by saying, "well what would you do if this was your house'" what would i do' i would have had the exterminator here last night.

do not even get me started on the laundry room. not only do NONE of the washers and dryers work properly but our wonderful community here at avondale park feels that it is OKAY to touch other peoples laundry by taking it out of the dryer wet, or stealing peoples laundry baskets.

our landlord thinks that just because we live in a so called gated community (the gate JUST started functioning properly and it isnt even closed all the time)that this place isnt ghetto. but it most definately is a white trash ghetto.

Our pool was started in April or May and the installer told us it would be completed in six to eight weeks and they did not finish it until the end of August. We are sorry that it took so long and we were calling them constantly to try to get it completed. In Tennessee, when the weather begins to turn cold, mice look for a warm place to be. We did inform our exterminator as soon as we were informed and they were out weekly until the problem was solved. This resident had a pet and left dog food out in the open and this attracts pests. The exterminator was leery about putting anything in the apartments because of children or pets but they did put a large amount of bait in the crawl space and it took some time for the mice to get into the bait and die. Exterminators will not come out at 11 at night to catch a mouse that is not realistic. And if you could find one who will come out at that time of evening, you will pay hundreds for it. We pay a monthly rate and they come as many times as needed during NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS. If there is a problem with the laundry machines it needs to be reported to the office so that we can get them serviced. We do not use them so if we are not informed by those who do we cannot know there is a problem. Unfortunately, there are people in this world who steal and bother things that do not belong to them and even though we have cameras recording things can happen. We do our best to keep a safe and happy environment for all but unfortunately we cannot control everything and everyone who comes onto this property. We have spent hundreds if not a thousand dollars since buying this property in April of 2009 to keep the gate functioning and every time we repair the people push it with their body or their car if they cannot get it to open the normal way and break it. We cannot be everywhere and see and babysit to be sure these adults act like adults. This is the way of the world these days and we are just trying to maintain a community for all.
