I lived at Appling Lakes for 1 1/2 years and had my front door kicked in and my apartment robbed TWICE in less than a year. It took maintenance 4 MONTHS to replace my door the first time it was kicked in, as they felt that some caulk in the broken door was adequate repair. After the second burglary I decided it was time to move out and the staff was fine with that as long as I paid them rent until they re-rented my apartment. I was forced to pay rent for a month that I didn't even live there. Lucky me, they rented it after the first month because if they hadn't I would have had to pay another months rent. If that wasnt enough, a month after the fact I was sent a bill for a cancellation fee of $1100. I appealed to the district manager to relieve me of the responsibility of this fee and he was actually willing to waive it but Sandy, the property manager disputed his decision so in the end, I had to pay $550 - yeah - that Sandy is a real sweetheart.

Wow.... I can't believe any complex treats a tenant so bad after the tenant has been burglarized & forced to live with a broken door. I was planning on moving here, but that won't be happening now. Thanks
