My family lived in these apartments for 11 months, from January 2007-December 2007. We were great tenants; not too messy and never loud, and we were always within the grace period with our rent. I went on forced bedrest for problems in my pregnancy during the 10th month of our lease and then my husband was laid off from his job at the time, which meant NO INCOME. The day my husband was on his way to orientation for his new job, some ------- ran a redlight at the light at Cordova Rd. and Germantown Parkway. It totalled our car and broke my husband's arm, to which his new employer replied that they could no longer allow him to work there, since he was physically handicapped. When we went to the office to try to work out a payment plan so we could stay till the end of our lease in January of 2008, they refused to work with us. Even though one of the office employees had seen the wreck personally, they offered no empathy for our situation and refused to allow us to pay them in increments. We weren't even 15 days past due on our rent when we got a summons stating we were being sued for unpaid rent!! Not only that, but they were evicting us. Here we are with no income, my husband has a broken arm, and we have a 5-year-old daughter to feed and clothe, and here I was 9 months pregnant and we were being evicted. We had to move right before Christmas, and even though you're supposed to get 30 days from notice of eviction to vacate the premises, when we came back to get the last of our stuff, we found that the apartment complex had already gone in and thrown out the rest of our stuff. Now here we are stuck paying the two months' rent we owed, PLUS their lawyer and court costs for suing us.
They are heartless, and it's obvious that they are only in it for the money. They care NOTHING about their tenants' needs and wants. I would NEVER reccomend anyone to this complex and I certainly let all my friends and family know how they have treated us, as well.

My advice would be to cancel your lease with Cordova Creek and go to Trinity Lakes. They are right down the street from Cordova Creek, cheaper, and have better amenities.

As the Assistant Manager at Cordova Creek Apartments it is my responsibility to handle all eviction proceedings. This is probably the most difficult aspect of my position and I understand that removing people and families from their homes can make me appear (and feel) ???heartless.??? Each resident that moves into Cordova Creek Apartments signs our lease agreement which covers, very specifically, when rent is due and what happens if rent is paid late or not at all. Although I can sympathize with our residents when difficult situations arise I am obligated to treat each person the same, regardless of circumstance.

Cordova "Creep"...Show some compassion! I understand you are running a business but when you're dealing with peoples lives and well-being that puts you in a completely different ballgame. Didn't the residents try to workout a temporary payment plan? They could have been given a timeline to pay up and instead of being pushed out. After reading this, I will never refer anyone to you.

I do not live at Cordova Creek, however I have worked in the apartment business for the past four years and while on a personal level employees feel for the residents and their particular situations, legally we are not aloud to give special treatment to any one resident over another. Fair housing laws strictly prohibit us from treating one resident different form another. Therefore policies and guidelines put in place are followed without exception, in an effort to treat all equally. So while it may seem heartless or unfair it is none the less lawful and necessary. Not to mention its surely laid out specifically in black and white on the lease term everyone signs with out reading. (again not our fault). To put it in perspective think of it this way, if you owned a home and you couldn't pay your mortgage on time or at all do you think the mortgage company cares? No! you'd pay late fees and eventually loose your house. While it sounds like this particular situation could have been worked out more reasonably, all I can say is the real world sucks people get used to it!
