Let me just say that some of the reviews for this apartment complex are greatly exaggerated.
We were transferred here in July and had only a few days to drive down to search for an apartment. We liked what we saw. After comparing "HL" to other complexes in the area we decided this was where we wanted to be.
We signed a contract and moved down a few days later. That?s when I discovered this website! I wondered what we had gotten ourselves into after reading some of the reviews. I would not have moved in if I had read the reviews on this website first.
Moldy window frames, unruly kids, paper thin walls, etc. It all had me scared to death. I was ready to tear up our lease! But we decided to make up our own minds.
True, the workmanship won?t win any awards. The floors are unlevel in many places and the walls are not exactly square, but it is just an apartment. However, if I was building a house I certainly would not choose the builders of this complex. It?s obvious this place went up in a hurry.
Overall, we are happy here. We must have very quiet neighbors because we have not experienced the noise problems others have. We love the office staff. We have had two maintenance issues. Both minor. Both repaired in a timely manner.
The front gate is a joke though. It only spans the front of the property.
Would I recommend Houston Levee' Yes! If you aren?t used to apartment living buy a house, you won?t like it here. You won?t like any apartment.
