I have reviewed the comments on the place in which I reside. Now I know that I do not feel alone. The "management" of our apartments, are a disgrace. We have a low-class "princess", who struts thru the complex, in too tight, too short clothes, who could care less about her tenants safety or well being. However, she is always right, and should be checked for a belly button, as she is not of this world. She is much too busy filling the vacant apartments with drug dealers and thugs, so she will look good to her "boss" for having them all rented out. I read my lease, and it states that no one can live in the apartment, without their name being on the lease. There is an apartment adjacent to hers that is being occupied by over 20 Latinos. This is not only against the lease, but against the Department of Health. Only two people are permited per bedroom, and the max amount of bedrooms in this complex is 3.
Whenever someone goes into the office for help, they are treated with the utmost disrespect by both the Manager, Debra, and the Assistant Manager, Josh, who happens to be her Nephew. I do believe that the rudeness runs in the family. The maintenance crew is a joke, however they can do no wrong! Why not hire one of them to patrol the apartments. Instead, we the tenants are paying them for tooling around on their little golf carts.
It seems that the good tenants are being run off because of the crime and lack of leadership. Maybe we should all get together, meet, and discuss how we can protect ourselves against the riff-raff that has been allowed to move next door to us, below us, and on top of us. Complaining about it in E-Mails, will not get the job done.

I am very concerned about the safety of every man,woman, and child, that has to live here.

I can agree with this person. I am a former resident of Houston Levee. The new staff is terrible. And oh my god Deborah, that lady is really really rude. And when I say rude she is rude. Like you said, she is always right.But Josh on the other hand is a very very sweet person not unless something has changed over the pass couple of months since I have been gone and since he got promoted to assistant manager. Deborah, can not argue with her. You know I can really tell the difference between the new and old staff. Oh god, how I just love Regina, Candance and Kelly. They were so very very sweet and they seem concern about your problems. On the other hand Deborah does not. She will run the residents away. That's why Houston Levee can not keep anyone over there. Talking to Deborah's manager does not make it any better. But you what goes around comes around. Watch how you treat people. And as far as maintance we are not going to discuss them. But I can tell you one thing about them all they do is run behind Deborah. She is the master.

This is so true ALL of it! I have complained several times to the staff & as you guessed it NOTHING! The clas of people that they are allowing to move in here is an absolute DISGRACE! If you have a family you can't allow your children to be outside playing Its way to Scary! As for Deborah and Josh they have NO Idea how to treat people let alone run an apartment community. Trust me, We will not be able to take this much longer & our lease will be broken! I would rather pay the fees then live in this run down, drug infested apartment!

I'm going to agree. I've lived at HL for over 2 years now. I choose it b/c when I was looking around Memphis, I needed an affordable, family orriented place to live for my family. It was great until this new staff came in. Now it is horrid. There is a group of young boys that walk around the complex usually around midnight. they go by bedroom window yet there is no walkway. I also liked it b/c of the play area but there is no way I'm letting my kids go play on that nasty, broken down playground. It really is a shame. I have had some great neighbors for the most part. Once my lease it up, i'm out of there as quick as possible.

Would that be the same group of teenagers that includes the young man who speeds around in the motorized low rider type bike? He pays no attention to cars, etc.. One day an unsuspecting adult driver will be the victim of this boy's carelessness and the adult will be blamed for this boy's accident. There are too many parents in that complex that do not take responsibility for their children\young adults (nor do the parents behave like mature adults). I simply wanted to make a public statement about that boy in case some poor adult gets blamed for this irresponsible kid's behavior. If he gets hit by a car, chances are great that it's his fault. It should be against the law for him to ride that thing without a license. He should also have to adhere to the speed limit - which he does not.

I disagree whenever I had a problem with my apartment, those guys took care it each and every time. I'm white, and I'm proud to some BLACK MEN take care of there J-O-B!!!!!!!!!!!! I think some people are very RUDE to call "men" boys. Or to talk about slave ----!!! Why won't you people try doing their job. That lady name is Debra ------- not Deborah. Since you JOSH so much? Do you take it in the ass, or use drugs? STOP HATING AND GET A ------- LIFE!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea what you were reading but, like someone else said, YOU are the only one that has used any such words!! by the way this is a place to state your problems!!!! YOU tell people to get a life?? If you can read what you wrote & are proud of that, then you have some MAJOR issues!! So, to everyone one else, This just proves our point! these are the type of residents that live at Houston levee! Run as fast as you can ways from there!!!

I wanted to look at moving into Houston Levee. But the response by 2730happy with the profanity does nothing but reinterate what everyone else was saying is wrong with HL. 2730happy, I would not want you as a neighbor so HL is off of my list. I lived at HL for an year and I love it there. When I have a maintenace problem, They will take care of it asap.NO PROBLEM!!! It's a great community to live and to raise a family. There aren't any hidden fees in the lease. Debra and JOsh are wonderful people. They are very helpful,outgoing, and understand different situations that may come up. Houston Levee is #1 in my book.

Houston Levee apts. is a joke! I've been there for a year and am getting out asap. My family and I have done our time in hell! It is not safe and in my opinion is over priced! However, they have contracted a new company to manage the facility, which in my opinion is a very smart thing to do, because Debra was basically insane! I do not recommend HL apts. and I highly suggest that if you are considering Houston Levee apts...that you look elsewhere! I wish I would have read this before I moved in.
