Wouldn't Reccomend This Place To My Worst Enemy!

My husband, daughter, and I moved in here on December 9th of 2005. When we first moved in, we LOVED it. The location, the amenities...We thought we had stumbled upon someplace really great. Two weeks after we moved in, my husband and I went Christmas shopping and returned to find our carpet soaking wet all the way from our fireplace area back to where our couch sits, which was almost to our bar (about 6 feet in distance). When we reported it to management, they swore they'd have someone in to fix it. They sent over some maintenance men who pulled our carpet up and left a huge fan in our apartment to dry the carpet and padding. The fan stayed about a week before they came to get it. The maintenance men were supposed to come back to nail the carpet back down, but guess what' It's now January 1st of 2007 and the carpet is still not nailed down. Good thing too, 'cause everytime it rains, our carpet gets soaked. We've reported this 5 seperate times to management within the year we've been here and they will not fix the issue. Because of this issue, we are constantly dealing with bugs getting into the house (I've been attacked by ants in my own BED), as well as the stench of mold, no matter how much air freshener I spray in the house.
Another issue is that in the month of April, my 4-year-old daughter was playing in our living room and all of a sudden we heard a bang and she started to cry. The air vent had fallen out onto her head and arm! When we reported this, they waited a week before sending a maintenance man over to fix it, and he wasn't even able to get it fixed. Turns out the vent is too small for the hole in the ceiling, so he had to "rig it" so it will stay. It wobbled from time to time to this day, when our neighbors upstairs walk too hard on the floor. And that's not even mentioning the time our garbage disposal got backed up. For a week and a half, we were unable to use our sink, dishwasher, or do any laundry because it caused everything else to overflow. And when maintenance came to fix it, guess who was left with the mess of old food and water to clean off the cabinets and floor'
Back in July, they started running a move-in special to get a 2BR/2B apartment for $764 a month. We are in what's listed as a 1BR/1.5B with a "study" for $817 a month. When I called the office to kindly ask that we could either move or have our rent lowered to that special, because of all the problems we've had in this apartment, they refused. I even contacted the home office and got no help from them, either.
This place is horrible. Aside from the problems we've had personally, there's never anywhere to park. Most nights when I come home from work at 8:00, I end up having to park at the apartment complex behind ours to walk to mine, which is rediculous. I love the location of my apartment and the layout, but I can't stay here. We've had too many problems and management doesn't seem to be worried about righting the wrongs in order to keep us.
DO NOT MOVE in here! The prices are too steep for the CRAP you have to put up with here.
