I moved in on an awesome special. When it came time to renew the third time, I realized my rent was incresed by over $100 since move-in. Special, I think not. The only thing special about it was me. I was especially ignorant to this scam. They charge you for everything here. Trash, water, washer & dryer. They claim that the community is secure because they have a keyed access gate. That's a bunch of balony. The gate is always broke. This last time it's been broken, it stayed broke for over two months. My upstairs neighbor had a leak, which turned my ceilings and walls into a hideous shade of brown. They came one time and left stucco all over the floor. They said they would come back, but they never did. I am very displeased with my stay here. I can't wait to move out.

Thanks for posting such an honest review. I caution you to be very careful as your move-out progresses. One thing is, (after failed negotiation attempts) at the last minute the Grove will offer to work with you on a rent reduction so you will stay. This is frustrating because you wonder why they didn't work with you in the first place. Now you're all packed and have a deposit on another place. Also, you'll get a letter telling you how much rent you owe to move out. Please do the math very carefully. My letter billed me $910 (pro-rated) for a month that I was only staying 5 days. My rent through the partial month was $639.
I received the notification letter that my rent would go up 17% (From $639 to $751) less than 24 hours before the 60 days required to give notice before my lease ran out. I was leaving town at 6:00 a.m. the next morning and gave them notice by telephone (after attempting to negotiate a reduction in the increase without any success), and turned in written notice immediately upon my return. They are diligently pursuing me with nasty collections representatives although I've disputed the charges twice in writing. When I voiced my concern to this man about the extremely short notice of a huge rent increase not being fair to the tenant, the man clearly responded, "The Grove can do whatever they want, it's in the lease".
I also agree with the above review on the 'security' aspects of the Grove. Because it's such a pleasant environment with a hot tub, vollyball courts, etc, EVERYBODY figures out a way to get passed the gate to enjoy the ammenities. Most times, when I spent my year there, the vollyball/tennis courts and pool were full of people who didn't live there. The Grove simply said to 'call the police' when this type of thing occurred when it's their property being trashed. You get tired of the constant disturbances with partying kids every weekend and give up. The weekend before I left my new car was vandalized by a brood of partying teenagers. The ammenities seem lovely when you're considering the Grove as a place to live. Please remember they're lovely to people who don't live there and usually that's who's enjoying them.
The Grove loves you when they're romancing you into living there.. the tour in the golf cart makes you believe it's an upscale residence. In truth, all the show in the world doesn't change the fact it's an average living area. What you don't know is the Grove will come after you when you exit, tooth and nail and collection agencies, for money you don't owe by any stretch of the law.
Thanks again for the honest review. Renters like to say that posts like these are from angry people who were treated fairly and just want to complain about something. I disagree. Often the voice of the exited-renter is the voice you wished you'd listened to when things start to go wrong in your leasing experience.
