I was brand new to Memphis and this place made me leave after two months.

My first month living at the Grove two dead bodies were found, they sent out a letter that said a situation happened and they were looking into it. I asked the management about it personally and their response was, things happen in Memphis.

In my second month my drug dealing neighbor pulled a gun on my friend and threatend to kill him, TRUE STORY, I decided I had to leave (like any sane person), management's response was, things happen in Memphis. I was told by management that they would deal with the situation, I still see my neighbor's car parked outside so apparently they were never evicted.

The place is an absolute joke, the gate gets broken down every weekend, drug use and drug sales run crazy throughout the entire facility. Every saturday I would go to the pool and every saturday I would be approached by various drug dealers. It appeared that managment was more worried about collecting their rent checks than the safety and well-being of the community.

I paid to break the lease, it was the best decision I could've made, it cost me a lot but at least I can sleep peacefully at night (something I couldn't do at the Grove, mainly because people would knock on my door throughout the night looking for drugs). That was by far the worst two months of my life. I would not recommend The Grove to anybody in their right mind.

I live at the property and I have never been approached by drug dealers. If I see something suspicious, I call the office or the police and always get a response. The office staff has always monitored the pools and they even have police officers who lock the pool gates at night. I was at the community meeting held after the two dead bodies were found and the police officer that came stated that it was a death investigation, not a murder. It is my understanding that the two people were very sick and could have died of natural causes.

It's absolutely clear that response was written by an employee of the Grove. The staff will never respond to something suspicious they will always tell you to call the police. The staff never monitors the pools and the supposed officers who lock pool gates are hit and miss. The two people died of drug related causes. That was public information.

The two people who died- died of a drug overdose. One of them was very sick and dying from cancer. Before the man got sick they were normal nice people. After he got sick from cancer- they started doing drugs. I don't work for the apartment complex or I would not be permitted to say this. I am neutral about the apartment complex. My rent keeps going up but I try to think maybe that is how they keep the thugs out. I have never been approached by a drug dealer or people looking for drugs. I go to the pool and I've never seen anyone out there looking for drugs. But maybe I live on the quiet side of the complex. I know the side on the East side seems to stay pretty packed and busy.

Look, the simple fact of the matter is that this is an apartment in MEMPHIS. So do what I do, carry a .40 caliber semi automatic pistol on you at all times with a bullet in the chamber. You never know when you will need it.
