I have lived here since last summer and we were very impressed with the community when we moved in. Safe , beautiful, gated... yeah right. Those gates are left open almost every day and the walk up gates on the path and at the bus stop are ALWAYS open. In the time we have lived here there has been vandalism to the front walk(obsenities). our bikes have been stolen off the rack, our car has been keyed(actually the WHOLE ROW of cars were keyed)and have had to call call police for my neighbors twice. The noise level is Horrendous!!!! My upstairs neighbors get up at 6:30am. I hear when they are taking a shower, flush their toilet, walk across their living room and go to their kitchen. I can hear EVERY STEP they take. I could go on and on about hearing other peoples voices and music thru the floors.....
The curtesy officers are very nice, but I have been in some emergency situations where they could not have responded in time. One neighbor was drunk and raging one night screaming and throwing things and who knows what else to his poor wife and little kids. I called the police, they NEVER came. The curtesy officer followed up with me because I had left him a message, but I never heard a thing from the leasing ofice. When I called to report our bikes stolen I was told I could "report it if you want to, I guess, but we don't really document those things". Now in fairness, I later brought this to the leasing office attention and they did apologize and noted it in my chart. But the scariest thing is just last night a woman in our building was brutally attacked. Police came quickly as did ambulance, but to my knowledge no imediate arrest was made. I fell so sorry for this poor woman, and I had just walked in my door and locked it when I heard the commotion. If I had been a minute or two later me and my baby would have been in the middle of it. How scary is that' We already decided enough was enough when our car was vandalized. We are moving and terminating our lease, to which the leasing office says we will have to pay almost $4000 in concessions. They don't explain that lovely rate they show you as a special is a concession and you have to pay that back if you dare decide to move! Some of the office staff is nice and helpful, however I have come up against some attitude and imcompetance. I am not a confrontational person, and usually I will just ignore things rather than have to complain, but this is enough.
