One of the best in Memphis

The Reserve overall has been a great place to live. I moved here in 2006 when i first moved to Memphis. As a young, female new to the city I wanted a place i could feel safe. When i came to visit the Reserve i immediately fell in love with how beautiful it is. I felt like i was living in a hotel resort, instead of an apartment complex. The first year i lived here i lived in a 3 bedroom/ 2 bath which we had for $900 and the past two years i have lived in a 2 bedroom/ 2 bath with a lake view which is now $809. Unfortunately, they add about $20-30 to your rent for ea. year you live here but the prices have always been reasonable for what you get and with a room mate are very affordable.
Not many college students can say that they live in a place as nice as this but with the location i am only 20 minutes away from school and i am in an area where i feel safe. It is also great having any store or restaurant with in a mile to you and the interstate.
The maintance staff is the best. Anytime i have ever needed something fixed they have been here the same day. They are all friendly and will wave to you if they see you in your car. They've even taken my trash for me if they saw me taking it out, as well as volunteered to help me move from my 3-bedroom to my 2-bedroom apt.
Although i can say that the crime rate has picked up a bit over the last year living here (Several car break ins & a few apt. break ins). I have never personally felt unsafe in this complex. There are usually always people outside and it is a very family oriented complex. You will always see people out and about walking their dogs or playing with their kids, and the neighbors have always been friendly. The parking lot is pretty well lighted and i can always find parking close to my building even coming home late from a night out.
I have never really had any problem with the office. They've always answered and returned my phone calls and although a couple times specific office attendants have been rude.. they have always helped me in the long run.
One of the downfalls is the walls are thin and you can hear noise from your neighbors. My bed is against an outside wall by the steps and i can hear people walking up and down at night and doors slamming. We also had a problem with hearing music and bass from a down stairs neighbor and the neighbors that lived above us use to sound like they were wrestling and our floor was going to fall in. I would recommend living on the 3rd floor just for the fact that you don't hear as much and you don't have anyone above you. However, this is an apartment complex so you will hear some noise no matter what level you're on.
After 3 years i am moving out of the complex. I gave my 60 days notice and the apartment attendant did personally call me to find out if there was anything they could do such as a lower cost, etc. to get me to stay but mainly i'm leaving just for something different and a change in roommate. I would still recommend this apartment complex though and what you see is what you get. Anyone that complained about hidden fees or mysterious charges is lying. They have always been upfront with me and willing to help.
