My neice is living here and the other night her roomate was in the shower fortunately the chain lock was secured because someone with a key tried to enter the apartment but was unable to...again because of the chain lock. Aren't apartment communities suppose to change the locks when each and every resident moves out...if not aren't they responsible (liable) for the person or persons harmed' I would think so. This was after hours so if it was the maintenace what was he doing here letting himself in her apartment without calling first or knocking. Does this community have a "master key" system...again huge liability for the apartment community.Somebody needs to get this situation under control as I can see I'm not the only person to report this on the site.
She also has a couple of maintenance work orders that have yet to be complete, after asking time and time and time again.
We are hoping to break our lease IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!

Did anyone contact the Memphis Police about the incident? It would be helpful to make sure the event was on the Trinity Lake Apartments police record. The situation described above is a dangerous situation for the residents and needs police attention. Have the residents thought about getting together for a safety security watch, using crime stoppers or a similiar organization?

PLEASE EMAIL ME!
My apartment was broken into this past Friday while I was out of town. The police say that the person had to have had a key. I would really appreciate it if you filed a police report so that we can do something about this. Please email me. I am braking my lease and moving out in January. My email is mudblossom@hotmail.com. Thank goodness for chain locks. Sorry to hear about your incident.

FYI: don't get a chain lock - they still break easily with a little bit of force. I know this from experience, though not a break-in. Go to a hardware store and get the ball and loop lock that they use in hotel rooms. My friend who is a police officer said it is practically impossible to break this kind of lock.
