We like the apartment and have no real bug problems or noise problems, but here's the problem we do have. MAINTENANCE CHARGES. This place CHARGES you to have certain repairs done. Your garbage disposal goes out' They make YOU pay $25. Your toilets are stopped up' They make YOU pay $25 EACH. I called because my toilets kept stopping up. They said there would be a charge if there wasn't a mechanical problem. I said, that's ok, because it must be a mechanical problem since plunging is not helping. They came out and supposedly plunged both toilets but did not leave the usual maintenance ticket. I came home, flushed the toilet, and it overflowed. Why should I believe he had even been there' The day after he came, I received a bill in the mail for $50. They threatened to take legal action if I didn't pay it, although my toilets were still overflowing every other day!!!! I still have problems with the toilets. The garbage disposal went out and they said $25 if it isn't mechanical. The thing wouldnt even turn on and they fixed it and tried to charge me. My dryer has gone out twice and still takes at least 2 cycles to fully dry my clothing. My shower rod wont stay up. And, last but certainly not least, the AC didnt work the day we moved in, and it has gone out 3 times this month, most recently TODAY. Maintenance promised they would be out today and nobody has come so I get to spend the holiday weekend sweating my butt off. If you move here, you will certainly have maintenance problems because the apartments are old. But worst of all, Sunshine WILL recoup the money they lose from having relatively cheap rent. They will charge you for maintenance wherever possible, and dont even think about bouncing a check or being late with the rent. That's how they will REALLY make their money.
