Carrington Hills Apartments were mostly clean (if you don t count all the hair painted into the floorboards of the bathrooms). They were quite drafty. And they switched to a basically socialist system of water calculation (my water bills doubled thereafter). The staff was mostly friendly. Maintenance was very responsive.
After I moved I received a bill for nearly $400 to replace the carpet. After speaking with Kari (not her real name) in the office, I was told that carpets are never replace unless damaged (we have two kids, there were stains, but the carpets were very worn before we moved in). Apparently they have special (i.e. magic ) machines that fluff them up good as new. To me, it seems like they are externalizing regular maintenance costs to previous tenants.
P.s. I was talking to a former neighbor of mine who said the same thing happened to one of his neighbors. It ain t just me, folks!

I just moved a month ago. Same thing. Charged for new carpet and even a broken blind which we reported before we moved. They said the blind would be fixed after we moved and then they charged us for it. Luckily they messed up on the online statement and reversed the charges. I haven't paid yet, nor have I heard from them or their attorney. It'll be a hard fight to pry the money from my hands after there error.
