my move out

I felt like I needed to write a review about my move out, considering that there are so many negative comments on here about moving out. I actually was really scared about moving out after reading all of the comments about the terrible experiences that people had.
I stayed my entire lease and did not break it. I went to the office and filled out their paperwork as required to give a 60 day notice that I would not be renewing my lease. I moved out the day that I told them I was going to move out. I cleaned my apartment as outlined in my lease. It was not spotless, but it was clean. I got my deposit back minus the last month's utilities. It was really quite painless (other than the actual move).
As far as when I actually lived there, I had minimal problems. The appliances in my apartment worked well. I enjoyed my screened in porch and my fireplace. Maintenance came and fixed things when I asked them to. I did learn that the office staff often does not pass along maintenance requests to the maintenance folks. The guys are out on the grounds a lot, and if you flag them down and let them know about an issue in your apartment, they will usually come over and fix it very quickly.
The office staff is my only real complaint about Franklin Oaks. They seem to have some issues with following through with things.
I had very quiet neighbors and did not have any problems with noise. It did bother me a little that a lot of the lights on the grounds didn't work, but the parking is so close to the apartment, I never had to walk in the dark.

i agree and disagree i lived in franklin oaks frm 2005 -2008. when i moved in the carpet was clean but not new. they cleaned it every new lease and when i moved out they charged me for new carpet because they had prorated 5 more yrs! most of the damage came from them originally because of maintenance issues. the maintenance staff is great but usually i had to talk to them directly to get anything fixed. parking could be scary and i deffinatly had some questionable neighbors, but i loved my screened in porch.
