The employees are great...until they get your signature on the lease.

Literally right away we began having problems with the plumbing, but basically because the sinks weren't shooting water everywhere, we weren't a priority. Because of that, I took more than one cold shower in that place. We had several maintenance concerns (not an excessive amount, but a few here and there) and every time we had anything wrong we had to request that it be fixed AT LEAST three times.

One of the big things they push when you move in is that you get an accent wall. Of course, someone screwed up the paperwork and we didn't get our accent wall painted until we had lived there for nearly 3 months.

Finding a parking spot is VERY easy...if it's before 5pm. If you come in after that, forget it. You can plan on parking at least 1/4 of a mile away...or at least it feels like it when you're carrying many bags of groceries.

I was not crazy about their pet deposit rule. I foster small dogs until they can be placed in a suitable home. I could have the dog for 5 days or 5 months. I asked them about their policy and they said it was $300 per animal, plus a small increase in monthly rent. Since I was only going to have one animal at a time, I thought it would be $300. No. They meant $300 PER ANIMAL. They wanted me to pay $300 every time I brought a new foster dog home. I never did that. I paid the innital time, but nothing else. I always kept the same kind of dog, so if the people in the office saw me walking a small white dog in four different weeks, they assumed that it was the same dog. Little did they know.

Whenever I pay for something big (like rent), I always ask for a receipt. The Nimrods in this office couldn't even manage to pull that one off. They always look dumbfounded when I asked, then they would just copy the check and hand me the copy. I always had to ask one of them to initial it. They have to have their hands held in order to do their job properly.

One time, I had a very productive month at work and decided I wanted to go ahead and pay rent for the following month, even though it was only half way through the previous month. First off, they looked at me like I went in there speaking Italian. They all kind of looked at one another. Apparently people don't pay rent early there very often. I was assured that the check would be taken to the bank the next business day...yeah, right. It took nearly two weeks for them to even take it to the bank. This is a very big deal for me because I'm trying to get a very good track record of paying early or on time so I can get a great deal on a house later. That check actually showed up as being paid in the "grace period" they offer you to scrape together the money for rent.

I was impressed that they had a fitness centre, but that too lead to disappointment. In order to get a key to the fitness centre, you have to give them a $20 deposit (which CANNOT be combined with the rent, so just forget that). They tell you the deposit will be returned, but they are not very clear on HOW it will be returned. I was told over and over that it would be returned when I returned the key. Well, a few months after getting the key from them, I decided to join a woman's gym, so I no longer had a need for their place. I returned the key and only after I asked about the return of my deposit did they tell me that it would be returned to me when I got my deposit back.

When I finally got my deposit back, it was only for a fraction of what I had paid. I called them for an itemized bill, but never received it. For me, it wasn't worth the headache of repeatedly calling and dealing with these people.

While I quite enjoyed the screened in balcony and landscaping, it wasn't enough to make me want to even think of referring this place.
