No Frills but Cheap Thrills

I thought I would post a review about these apartments for those of us who are shopping apartments online. Although I do not live in this complex, I have gone and toured several apartments there. I was really put off of the complex when I called- the person who answered the phone wasn't too helpful or descriptive. Compared to other apartments I have called, you could say she was downright rude.
That being said, when I actually went to the office and asked for an application and information, the manager was more than friendly. She was very informative about the complex, and willing to help me locate an apartment within my price range. I saw apartments at every price level they offer (and currently they are running extreme discounts on rentals). Overall, I don't think you should bother with this complex if you aren't willing to spend more and live at the top of the hill where the view is- the views from the bottom suck (who wants to pay $725 and look at cars from your balcony'). For a $100 or so more, you can have one of the best views of Franklin (and I've lived here all my life so I feel pretty comfortable making this statement). Water and basic cable are included in the price of your rent- although the basic cable line-up is pretty limited in my opinion. The manager did say that the complex has a deal with Comcast and seemed to indicate that you could upgrade for a discounted rate, though I can't confirm the accuracy of that.
I find that the apartments are spacious and relatively nice for the price. This isn't some souped up community, and those looking for luxury should definitely look somewhere else. But if you are looking for somewhere that is spacious with a view and aren't too bothered about looks and amenities (i.e. pool, clubhouse, etc), I'd recommend considering Royal Oaks Apartments. After extensively shopping for something I could afford, I plan on leasing at this complex.
