I lived here at South Wind for about 6 months and it was TERRIBLE!!!! When you come to view the property, they show you the model apartment, which is furnished very nicely and well lit. I asked if I could see the actual apartment, and they told me that it was not ready, but that it was the same as the model. BULL!!! They had updated all the appliances and fixtures in the model, leading you to believe that your apartment would be nice. NOT - the same cabinets that were in our apartment were the same ones that were in the apartment when they were built in the 80's.
The final straw was that we had sediment in our water that went on for a month. I was very reasonable for the first week, and even filtered the water for my 9 month old daughter to take a bath with filters. When it continually got worse, we had to bathe our 9 month old at one of our friends house and do dishes there. It was HORRIBLE!!! They couldn't "find" the problem, so we were offered to get out of our lease with no penalty and up to $300 for moving costs. We moved out with NO "$300 dollars for moving costs" and then received a bill from them for $218.oo for our WATER!!!! Unbelievable!!! Turns out the sediment was rust from the pipes! I do not understand why so many people have such great reviews for this complex. I do agree that for the area (which is costly) they are the cheapest, and the apartments are large. This negates the fact that there are only 4 windows in the apartment, making it very dark, and that they LIE!!!! If you move here for a good deal, all I can say is you get what you pay for.
