I lived in the apartments for a year with two other roommates. In that time period, we had had more maintenance issues than I have ever seen in an apartment. My guess is the apartments were no adequately maitained, or just not kept up. After I moved out, once the lease was up, I had a roommate that left a couch and some miscellaneous items. When the landlord called, and asked about the stuff we left, she notified me there would be a charge. A charge is expected, even though our deposit was non-reimbursable. When I asked her to let me know how much it would be, she said she would take a look and give me a call back. She never called back, so I assumed they decided to take care of it without a charge. I now have a $962.03 defaulted payment on my credit report, even though I have not lived there in 6 months, nor did I ever receive a phone call or letter in the mail from them. I did give them my new address before I left as well. What they did was shady, and they don't obviously don't care about the interest of their tenants, only about getting as much money as they can for some subpar standard apartments.
