Lived here for a year and am very pleased.

The good: They have a continous maintance team always keepig the place in top shape. Problems with the apartment are addressed promptly, and the staff is curtious. At lease renewal my rent was not increased that much, so I believe it has to do with how good of a tenant you are.

The average: I live next to Vietnam Veterns and facing the tennis court. The traffic noise can be over come with a fan, and the tennis court lights are on a timer. Drapes and curtains can keep the light out at night.

The Bad: There is a problem at my building with a spider infestation. The parking can be troublesome when returning home late at night. No designated spots, first come first parked. Dog mess everywhere, but that is because the dog owners don't follow the rules and take thier little poop machines to the designated areas for that sort of thing. The complex does thier best to regulate, but it is the residents that create the problem by not following the rules and regulations set by the complex.

You either work nights and sleep during the day or spend a minimal amount of time here. Management at Monthaven is not friendly or helpful, the maintainence staff changes every 3-4 months. I've lived here for 2 years and won't renew my lease. The amount that your lease increased was a standard percentage, it's illegal to discriminate based on how well a renter is like, but if that's true maybe it's another point for my daughter, who's an attorney, to investigate.
