I wouldn't recomment Monthaven apts to ANYONE. The inside and outside appearance is deceiving. The water bills are outrageous. I was out of the country for 3 weeks last spring and during that time, my water bill was higher than the previous 2 months. Management told me I was responsible for the H2O bill regardless and threatened legal action if it wasn't paid (all of this discussion took place 2 weeks before it was due). The screening process for new residents is apparently very lax, although as a first time renter (I had sold my house and was in transition after becoming an "empty nester"), I was put thru a rigorous application process. There have been 4 different renters beside me in the past year, 3 below me and 5 above me. I have been here 2 years and do not plan to renew my lease. If you're considering Monthaven because of the appearance, I strongly suggest you look somewhere else. Also, the manager appears friendly and concerned (has set up bible study groups and family movie nights), she's as fake as Dolly Parton's chest. The rent increase each year doesn't match the quality of the apts.
