My husband and I moved here from FL in Jan. 07. We did have our small disappointments with our apartment at first. 1) We have ugly linoleum in the kitchen & both bathrooms & chipped tile in entry way. 2) Had fleas in our brand new carpet and we DO NOT have pets. 3) Really high water bills $60 /mo and this is standard!. 4) Really thin walls and ceiling. 5)Interesting "flushing" sound is heard inside the walls whenever someone above flushes their toilet. Now, here's the truth to all of this... First of all, this IS an apartment community!, you do NOT live in your own house, so don't expect your taste in floor coverings to be what YOU want. Second, the moment we found the fleas, the pest control man was here ASAP and even made a special trip on a Saturday at OUR convience to handle the problem - problem was solved. Third, the water bills', Yep, they are horrible but, this is not a Monthaven issue, this is a Ista water company problem...trust me, I've gone after Ista myself. Fourth, the thin walls...like I said, this is an apartment community, GET OVER IT! You don't like it', don't live in an apartment, period. As for the flushing sound, nothing you can do about it so... do what I do and imagine just for one moment that you're visting an exotic location that has waterfalls. :) and then...flush your own toilet and pass on the fun.
Bottom line is people...Monthaven is really a beautiful community! You can take a walk at night with your kids and NEVER worry about a thing...I do! Raquetball can be played indoors in the middle of winter. The fitness centers are really nice, no run down broken crap. Whether or not you believe this but, the office staff actually does care about what you have to say.. but remember something too, you are not the only one they are tending to, so be patient and keep in mind how you would treat you if you were them BEFORE you call in with your concerns. Last but not least, Monthaven is the only place I have ever lived that actually puts on really fun events for their residents, events you actually want to attend! I hope this review has helped someone out there and possibly brought peace of mind. Thank you and goodnight :)

Funny. I didn't see the name of who posted this reality check that sounds way too much like what a manager would say. There are better apartments to live in and cheaper water bills pretty close to these apartments. Cheerios.

I agree with the comment about this post. They'll do anything to weigh out the bad reviews and keep the approval rate up on here.

YOU MUST BE LIVING IN ANOTHER MONTHAVEN PARK..THIS IS AN OVER PRICED DUMP AND WE ALL KNOW IT...GET OVER IT MANAGEMENT.
