I moved to Hendersonville from KY and Monthaven was the best deal I could find. Overall I was fine with Monthaven, but there was a few issues that annoyed me. First, the first day I moved in after I signed the paperwork I noticed there were no lights in the bedroom or living room. I asked about this and was told that no apartments have above head lights, because "it allows the tenant to decorate as they wish." I did not move to an apartment to buy light fixture just to be able to see at night. They told me to go buy the fixtures and they would install them. I went to them after I bought them and asked for someone to come install them and they informed me that it would be $50 per fixture, or something like that. Of course I told them to go to hell and installed them myself. I felt like they said what they had to to make me happy, then hit me with the fee, instead of saying they will install them for a fee.

Next, our neighbors would place their trash outside their door and we would literally have to step over it. I had to call numberous times before anything was acutally done about the issue.

The only other issue is when it comes time to move out they give you several options for renewal, however, if you do not sign for another year you will have to pay an extra $100-200 a month depending on the time frame. I thought that was extreme. Also, each apartment building had two handicap parking, which would be fine except there was no handicap tenants, so the two best parking spots were empty and unused every do.

Then the ultimate slap in the face was the pet deposit. We had to give several hundered dollars for having a cat. We moved out with no damages or repairs needed and they were remodeling the apartment, including the carpet. However, they would not give us our pet fee back. We left no damages, they replaced the carpet for remodeling reasons and still kept our money. I put this with the government and the mafia, they can do whatever they want.

The kitchen and bathroom floor was out of the 80's with tiled floor.

Ok that was all of the bad stuff, here is the good stuff.

Kitchen had all kinds of storage space.

Two great pools, 24 hr fitness center, and landscaping is great and well attended. The staff is nice, until you have a problem then they tend to be rude.

They have events every so often that are fun and free.
