Prepare a savings account before moving into these apartments. My roommate and I signed a one year lease. From day one of move in, we had issues with pro-rated rent and no electricity. At one point we were weighing the option of breaking the lease. FYI you will lose your deposits and will be charged 3 times the rent to break the contract. Needless to say our history with the seemingly unhappy, arrogant staff was a little shaky, however, we did fulfill our contract. Prior to turning the keys in, we walked through the apartment with the maintenance manager who told us that the carpet could be cleaned in the areas that needed and to clean up. We spent hours painting and cleaning the apartment and to our disgust received a $1450 bill a month later for carpet replacement, every "uncleaned item" and paint. Needless to say we feel robbed and treated unfairly, knowing that apartments charge a certain value to compensate for people actually living in and using them. Basically these people are laughing at us because they know there isn't a damn thing we can do about it. They wanted $1450 within 90 days or both my roommate and I would get a $1450 dollar charge to our credit record regardless of what had been paid. Speak with Tammy the assistant property manager yourself and see if you cant read through her plastic face. You have been warned.

WOW this sounds outrageous and find it hard to believe. I lived at Monthaven for several years and my move out was nothing like this, staff was great, although my apartment was clean when I left. Typically , no electricity means you didn't pay the bill. Hum.......

Ok well I completely agree with you. i can honestly say that everything this post says is true. Im experiencing the same problem! My husband and I were so sick of the bugs and cheap fixtures and the cheap EVERYTHING that we decided to cut our losses. We went looking for a house because after this dump, it deterred us from renting at any other apartments, and that owning a home was much better. When we walked through in the beginning by Tammy we were simply just viewing the apts. and visiting different ones. As we were walking we asked Tammy what it would cost if we needed to cut the lease. Tammy told us that it was the next months rent and 30 days notice. So we finaly agreed to move in. Now that we found out how much of a ---- hole this place really is we decided to cut the lease. We have about 35 days until we move into our house so we called the office to let them know. They then informed us that you have to give 60 days notice and that we would have to pay 3MONTHS rent and $250 for redecorating, which I dont understand considerig we just moved here 6 months ago after being remodeled. Upgrades and everything! We also do not get our deposit back! They havent even viewed our apt. if they had they wouldve seen theres nothing wrong with or apt. and that this is th biggest load of ---- i have ever heard PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE U MOVE HERE ITS NOT WORTH IT!!!!
