Basically, I feel very lukewarm about living here. I still have quite a while on my lease, but I might consider my options when it is up.
The pluses: convenience to Walmart and area shopping is great, and it resides in a relatively nice area and neighborhood (just drive across the street!)...maintanence has always responded immediately to my requests (as long as it is not a weekend)...I never see any "riff-raff" outside, and most people who live in my building and the neighboring one, seem to be working class/professional people with families, and/or activities which keep them inside, and I have seen several families going to church on Sundays...almost everyone keeps their dogs on leashes...noise level is no different than any other complex...nice clubhouse, pool and fitness room...although a bit tense (not really rude, just not always friendly) seeming sometimes, the managers are courteous, and the main manager is very nice and sweet (they are always good about holding on to mail packages for you, too)...outside grounds are neatly kept, and it seems they are always mowing/weedeating...condition of interior of my apartment was above average when I moved in...I may have seen "section 8" potential people, but their behavior is alright----
Now for a few minuses--little to no landscaping except the area in front of the clubhouse...pet waste is not picked up after like it should be...neighbors throw cigarette butts near mailboxes and straw "mulch"-causing a potential for fire...it takes a while for maintanance to replace burnt outside lights... people sometimes drive their cars on inappropriate sidewalks and grass and especially when moving out, killing the grass and any sprinkler systems...for some reason litter has been a real problem lately...the outside definitely needs to be whitewashed, sprayed, repainted, etc. to make apartments look presentable to others and welcoming to residents...most neighbors are very friendly in passing, some aren't as willing to smile or speak (like I am).
Overall, I am not sure whether to say yea or nay on advising others to live here. I am the type of person that likes things in immaculate condition, considering the money I am paying. However, you have to consider that all apartments will share common problems, and several of the ones I have mentioned are among these. Remember this as you read any one of these "recommendations". Also, some people who make tons of negative comments may have a grudge and their animosity might be biased. Just think about what factors are most important to you, and which you can deal with.
