Bad Business Practice

I have been a resident of Cherry Creek for over 2 years, and have had to move 3 times within the complex, 2 of my own doing and 1 of their doing. I learned by chance almost exactly 2 months before my lease was to be up that they were going to upgrade all the apartments, and that if we were to stay in our apartment, we would only be able to sign a 9 month lease, not a year that would be needed. They did not mail us a notice about the upcoming renovations or warn us that we would not be able to stay longer than 9 months. When we did find out, they gave us the line about having to have 60 days notice before moving out. It'd be nice if they'd tell us we were going to have to move so that we could give a 60 day notice in time...overall, I have enjoyed living here, but the staff is incompetent and rude as far as I'm concerned. Oh...and we finally got our notice about having to move and give a 60 day notice...when we had 45 days to give it...terrible business practice if you ask me.

They did the same to us too. It's like they force you to take the 10 month lease (in our case) and your hands are tied because you don't have the time to look for someplace new. I called 90 days before the lease was up because I hadn't heard anything and was told I was calling too early. They waited just long enough so that we had to stay. It's a great place just too expensive and they are not willing to come down on the rate at all.
