Years at this apartment: 2009-01-01 - 2009-01-01

This makes my second year living here. New management took over about 6 months to a year ago and they act very stuck up. There have been car break-ins that management shrug off and do nothing about. I'm paying $765 for a 1 bedroom apartment and they are trying to raise it to $800 in June. My apartment is not remodeled. I called the office to ask about pricing 3 weeks ago (without telling them that I already lived there), they told me that they had some of my same apartment starting at $585 & $600, then when I told them I already lived there and wanted to sign and new lease at that rate when my lease was up in June they told me that I would have to pay $800. They give you a different rate every time you talk to them. I have talked to others in the complex who have told me that they have my same apartment as I do but remodeled and they are paying in the $600's while they tried to charge my close to $900 for the remodeled version of mine.

Most apartment complexes offer initial low rates for people who are moving in for the first time. After the first year, unfortunately it's a common policy to raise the rent on existing tenants while still offer better deals for new clients. I've never understood that, but it's not happening only at Cherry Creek.

IT is happening to me too at my complex. I was told, (and it made sense) if you buy gas on Monday for $2.40 a gallon, would you ask for a refund on Friday when it was $2.20 a gallon? It is all about timing of what you buy, apartments are the same.
