A little wary

I'm not a resident yet, but I was trying to be. Went in on a Friday, picked out my apartment for 2 months from now, put down all deposits and fees, filled out the application, got all the necessary paper work prepared for moving in March and went on my way, excited about my new apartment. On Monday they call with a credit issue - sent them the needed documents, cleared that up and moved toward finalizing things. TWO HOURS later, they call and tell me due to a "typo" the apartment I was promised is not available and because they won't honor the rent I was quoted on another unit, I have to simply wait until February and "see what comes up in the price range". Did I mention my complex needs notice before that' I don't have a lot of choices this time around, but I'm wary of living somewhere that does business like this. The folks were nice until the hiccups started, then they're difficult to work with since I'm not a resident. I'm not sure I want to give these folks my money, but I like the buildings. We'll see. Be cautious.
