I have been a resident at Oakwell Farms since July '07 and I have never had an issue. The staff has always been nice and courteous and they have always handled all of my issues in a timely manner. I have never felt unsafe coming in late at night and I have never had a problem with my neighbors. We are all kind to each other and we are aware of the people that live next to us, as we all should be. For those of you complaining about the bugs that is the way that it is going to be anywhere that you live in Nashville that is surrounded by trees. Just a part of the environment. As for the break-ins that take place what would make anyone think that it is anyone other than an outsider who is trespassing and commiting these acts. I dont know if you are fooling yourselves or if you are really just that naive but you are going to have issues no matter where you go. I am just glad that I live in a community where the staff is kind and a place where I feel safe.

I'm sorry that this seems like such a great place to you. You see I lived there just as long and couldn't wait to move. Maybe its because I'm used to a nicer place to live or maybe because it really was crap. I don't know. But its not just oakwell farms that is going downhill, hermitage is quickly becoming the slums of davidson county. I was so glad to move. We moved to a small town outside of davidson county and we have a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment. We only pay 755 a month for it. And its much newer than Oakwell. We live in a place surrounded by trees and we do not have bug problems. And we are on the first floor. At oakwell there were lots of spiders and bugs that got in. The pet rent is rediculous because what you pay for one at oakwell you can have 2 other places. Also did they ever put in those pet waste bags and recepticles they claimed they had? Needless to say I wouldn't bring a child into that complex. We are so much happier where we are now. Its cleaner and much safer. I couldn't believe the rent at oakwell at renewal time. We would still be stuck in a small 1 bedroom had we not moved. The staff all they care about is making there money and honestly I don't like the fact that there is a pet weight limit and a certain staff member has a dog there that is obviously way over the limit (Not to mention all the large dogs we saw there) We are happy in our new home and I wouldn't wish oakwell on my worst enemy. I'm sure its great for those starting out like we were but thank goodness there are much better places to live. That said there are much worse places out there than Oakwell farms as well. So its a mediocre living situation. Enjoy your home and I'm glad you feel safe. I sure didn't. We were ideal tenents, rent always in before the 1st. Oh and don't have a pet at oakwell (the black mold festering in the bathroom and airducts will affect the poor thing and they get you good at the end because its just an addedum you sign, not an actual deposit that takes care of damages. You will owe for whatever damages they see or think your pet made)

I agree with Sasha as to the not very safe conditions of this complex. In fact, we got letters on our doors a couple days ago about car vandalisms and a car theft that happened just this week. My neighbor had their car keyed a few nights ago. To Billy's point, the apartment complex is not at fault, but these incidences DO tell a little about the type of individuals at this complex. Also, I do NOT feel safe coming in at night. The staff are very pleasant and my neighbors are pretty pleasant too, so I cannot disagree there. When my lease is up; however, the pleasant staff & neighbors are not enough to keep me in this place. I have lived in a number of complexes in the last 10 years and had no safety complaints about the others. My safety for myself and my property is more important, thus I need to find a new home. Sorry.

i never felt safe coming in at night.. the latest i ever came in was 11 and even then i would run into the door! I know bugs are everywhere, but the way they handled their bug problem, was just for crappy. I moved out over a month ago and moved to polo park and i love it there. It was a much needed upgrade from that place i use to call home! But the breaking in of cars will happen anywhere, but with the maintance not fixing lights after being told 10 times that the light doesn't work right. Somethings go to give i remember on the day i moved out it still wasn't working and they claimed they fixed it. Just being lazy i guess
