Here's why: the walls are paper-thin, not a gated-community and the staff is not selective at all in who lives or commutes here. Granted that any apartment complex is going to have these issues, they can at least express genuine concern for those who don't feel safe here. I got mugged on my birthday, filed a police report, then went to the information office the next day only to feel like I was wasting my time. With the $700 value that was taken from me (this includes my purse & everything in it), they could've at least reduced my rent or reported to renters insurance. Now, I carry a tazer on me at all times when I come in at night and I'm not so sure that the thugs who robbed me (even though one was caught and rightfully, prosecuted for various robberies), don't have any close ties to people here.

It's a shame because I love Hermitage, the apartment itself (the way I customized it at least), the view and even the pools & fitness (actually, I rarely use them due to my jaded feeling of this place) but I'm willing to fork in the extra $200 a month (with less space) to move somewhere else.

I will give props to the Hermitage Police Department, great neighbors, excellent maintainence, & some of thier staff for doing a great job!

After a month of living in this apartment complex, I got my CCW Gun Permit as I no longer felt safe. I was packing (my gun) whenever I would leave at night or knew that I would be coming back in the evenings. Locked and loaded. I was a single woman living by myself and the gun was loaded in my dresser drawer. I never felt safe after calling the cops when I herd bullets on a few occassions that were a little close for comfort. If you have a gun permit...feel free to stay...you may get some excitement. If you are not comfortable carrying a gun, I hope you are able to run away from stray bullets or people holding you up:) Glad I am gone and have moved to Hendersonville...it is so much safer here.
