I've been living in Cherry Grove for just about two years, and not because I liked the place. Pretty much, we were doing the month-to-month rent waiting for word on our next job/school location, and it came. But let me tell you why NOT to live here:

1. Noise. Now, I'm young, and I can handle noise from time to time, as long as it isn't excessive. However, the week I was moving in, I already had a noise complaint against me. It was 7, I was home alone, watching TV. This went on for a month, and I was always home alone when security would show up, wondering if I was playing music. Nope, I'm on the internet. Nope, I'm asleep. Pretty freakin' annoying, but it turns out that if the washing machine is running, our neighbors would complain about the noise. At 7 pm on a Friday night, I got a complaint for watching Finding Nemo. It's a freakin' cartoon people!

2. Upkeep. I have a toilet that doesn't flush, a bathroom door that doesn't have an operating doorknob (you're locked in if you close the door), carpet that had holes, stains, and cut pieces throughout, and many more problems. Ants' Yup. Wasps' Huh-huh. Mice' Scared the crap out of me, who gets mice in an apartment' Of course, you're left on your own for pest control. They decided to roof our apartment, and the roofers happened to throw a shingle through my window. OK, I can live with it, let's just call management. And call them again. And again. And again. Ok, let's take what's left of the window to management, show them there's no glass in it. They still didn't freakin' replace it. Two months later, I finally had a new window. Gee, thanks!

3. Management. They'll screw you, one way or another. Break your lease, you owe hundreds of dollars per month that you've lived there. When I found out I had a new position several hours away (at the first of the month), they told me I had to turn in my 30 day notice to them the following month. That's six weeks of rent I'm required to pay, and I'm not even living in the same area code! Fight it, and they'll come back with thousands of dollars worth of bills.

4. Parking. Come home from work at 5, park three buildings down. Great.

The good thing about Cherry Grove - the rent ain't all that high. Ever hear the expression nothing in life is free' They'll come back and get that money you think you're saving from somewhere else.

AMEN! The management is the worst part! They just try and screw you out of your money!
