After looking at several apartments in Johnson City I found Evergreen Terrace to be the most spacious at an affordable price. I went with two bedroom townhouse with 1 1/2 bath for $450/month. Deposit was rather large (matched a month's rent.) Got the key on first day with no delay.

Pros:
Well lit parking lot with permits required.
Relatively quiet respectful neighbors.
Large living space.
Dishwasher
Courtesy office staff.
Convenient
1 1/2 baths.
Several cable/telephone hookups.

Cons:
Trains!
Kitchenette (economy size)
Poor closet space on end units.
Paper thing walls.
Seemingly poor insulation/building quality.
Only two overhead lights!
Concrete jungle.
No W/D in a townhouse'
Non private patios.

Bottom line:
I would recommend this to most people. However, I think there might be more for the money such as washer/dryer connections and slightly more private. I feel like The world can see me everywhere in my apartment since there are parking lots 3 feet from every entrance/window. I have good neighbors but walls are thin and can sometimes be annoying if neighbor needs to make any sort of noise for any activity (talking on phone etc.)
I've been here 8 months and plan on moving when lease is up as W/D hookups are a must and also closer to my workplace in Kingsport.
